Wrigley Field was the site of a tense game between the Los Angeles Angels and New Orleans Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans rode a solid performance from 31-year-old starting pitcher Pedro Hardy to a win, beating the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2, at Wrigley Field. New Orleans reliever Jerry Beckmann picked up the win to move to 5-2. Mason Olson suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 37-year old right-handed pitcher Cristián Cortéz.

New Orleans needed the clutch hitting of Scott Peck to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pelicans on top, 3-2. For the game, Peck had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Tough loss," said Los Angeles manager David K. "But we'll learn from it."

The victory gives the Pelicans a record of 40-17.
