The Portland Beavers defeated the Oakland Acorns, 4-3. Doing his part was center fielder Pedro Savino III, who belted 2 home runs. Portland reliever Scott Witt was the winner. His record is now 6-6. The losing pitcher was Robinson Pérez.

Portland got a knockout punch from Tadaaki Matsumoto. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Savino III told the Portland Daily News.

The Portland win streak is now 3 games.
