Rainiers Topple Angels with Late Rally
Seattle third baseman Daniel Fernández made his presence felt in the 7-5 Rainiers triumph over the Los Angeles Angels. Fernández hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Gabriel Trujillo in relief. His record improves to 9-3. Jorge González took the loss. Kevin Banks earned his 30th save in 34 tries.

Gilberto Lugo was 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch for Seattle. The 2008 Young Buck winner had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jorge González. It was his 128th RBI of the season.

In postgame comments to the Seattle Observer, Fernández said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Rainiers lead the Pacific Coast League North by 10 games.
