Edward López never let San Diego get something going. The Sacramento right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Ironhorse to a 4-1 win. David Williams earned the save, his 30th. The losses continue to mount for San Diego, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Though he didn't earn the victory, López kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Sacramento offense came through. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 13.
"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said López.
