Austin starter Bill Simpson pitched well against the Denver Grizzlies at Clark Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 11-4. Rafael Concepción recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 4 for 8. The win gives Austin a season record of 80-71.

Vernon Alvarado had a big 2-run double for the Cowboys in the bottom of the second inning. With Austin trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Raúl Ángel, who finished 5th in the CL in saves with 28 in 2010, and swatted a double to left. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cowboys ahead, 2-1.
