Rainiers Lose at Home, 5-2, to San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Seals and Seattle Rainiers completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The San Francisco Seals called upon starter Cornell Jenkins, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Seattle Rainiers, 5-2. Jenkins got the win, improving to 11-12. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Jenkins allowed 2 runs.
Manny Cantú, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cantú contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.
"I like winning," Cantú told the San Francisco Times. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
The Seals, at 68-83, sit in 5th place in the Pacific Coast League North.
