Beavers Win at Home, 8-3
|
Mario Padilla had a good game, but he could not keep the San Francisco Seals from falling, 8-3, to the Portland Beavers at Multnomah Stadium. The San Francisco third baseman went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. With the victory, the Beavers upped their record to 83-71.
Ed Lott had a big 3-run home run for the Beavers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Portland leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Edgardo García, who led the CL in strikeouts with 337 in 2013, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 21st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 6-2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lott said after the game.
