Breakers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Stallions, 3-1
|
The San Diego Breakers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Rod Lee, who kept San Bernardino hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Breakers win at Perris Hill Park. Reliever Eric Williams picked up the win. His record improves to 8-11. Jason Gore took the loss. San Diego has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Had Raúl Días not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Días hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Breakers.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said San Bernardino skipper , "and it cost us."
