Pelicans Turn Back Reno, 3-1

Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New Orleans Pelicans and Reno Silver Sox.
Reno got a decent performance from pitcher Brian Gaines, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Pelicans. New Orleans won the Higgins Park contest, 3-1. Gaines threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Pelicans bumped their record to 91-64 with this win.
With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Domingo Contreras barreled up a cutter from Brian Gaines. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Pelicans in front, 3-0.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Contreras. "I think we showed that here."
