Stallions Fall Short, 3-2, at Long Beach
|
Jorge Rodríguez was superb against San Bernardino. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Ports victory. The score was 3-2. Vic Sun got the save, the 4th for him this season. Long Beach is 75-79 and San Bernardino, with the loss, 49-105.
Steven Nolan had a big solo home run for the Ports in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Long Beach leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Michael Snyder and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Ports on top, 3-0.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Rodríguez said.
