Starting pitcher Julián Rodríguez pitched well enough to help the Long Beach Ports beat the San Bernardino Stallions, 8-3. The Ports, at 76-79, inhabit 4th place in the Pacific Coast League South.

Ming Loong, who finished 3rd in the CL in home runs with 37 in 2009, aided the Long Beach cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Rodríguez. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
