Phoenix got a terrific game from second baseman Peter Love. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Salt Lake City, 6-4. Love went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times. The victory gives the Locusts a record of 81-75.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Orlando López came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Phoenix pitcher José Pérez, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Salt Lake City on top, 5-4.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," López told the Salt Lake City Daily News.
