The Reno Silver Sox grabbed a win, 7-3, over the New Orleans Pelicans at Alamo Park. Reno second baseman Dave Shaffer was 3-5 with 2 home runs. Gabriel Ordóñez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 9-6. Reno has 3 straight wins, New Orleans 3 straight losses.

Reno took a 7-3 lead on John Wesman's 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Wesman hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New Orleans pitcher Will Adams visibly frustrated.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Wesman.
