Dallas and Austin played a hard-fought contest.

The Dallas Eagles, despite a fine performance by Austin pitcher Bill Simpson, grabbed a 3-2 win at Clark Field. Simpson allowed 3 runs over 7 innings. The winning pitcher was Bert Larson. His record now stands at 9-4. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits for the Eagles. Mitchell White picked up the save for Dallas, his 10th of the year.

Dallas used a well-timed hit by Jordan Schoe to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Schoe told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

The win makes Dallas 78-83.
