The Las Vegas Strip knocked off the New Orleans Pelicans, 6-5, in Pioneer League action at Banditos Ballpark. Las Vegas pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Lorenzo Morales had an outstanding performance. Morales, now 5-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. The Strip raised their record to 23-37.

Las Vegas took a 6-4 lead on Fernando Averado's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Averado hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Orleans pitcher Will Adams visibly frustrated.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Morales.
