Kane slugs 2 home runs to Fuel Cowboys Offense
|
Cowboys right fielder Walt Kane put his stamp on his team's 5-1 win over the San Bernardino Stallions. Kane slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Austin in the contest. Rafael Infante, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 7-4. The win puts the Cowboys at 30-31, while the Stallions drop to 19-42.
Kane had a key at-bat for Austin in the top of the second. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and gave Austin an early 1-0 lead.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Brick B told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
