Aztecs Hang 2-1 Loss on Rainiers

The Mexico City Aztecs downed the Seattle Rainiers, 2-1, at Estadio Tenochtitlan. Stellar pitching by Clyde Kelly had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the CL in wins with 16 in 2013, handcuffed his opponent all game. The third-place Aztecs are 33-30.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from catcher Ken Nava. For the game, Nava went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Mexico City a 2-1 lead.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Seattle manager Ulrath Unclean.
