Mexico City Collects 3-2 Win
|
The Kansas City Jacks and Mexico City Aztecs provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a tight contest between the Mexico City Aztecs and the Kansas City Jacks, James Thomas was the determining factor. The Mexico City left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Thomas, now 6-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Alfredo García closed it out for his 18th save.
Mexico City used the hitting of Rob Wright to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Aztecs on top, 2-0. For the game, Wright had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"It was a real good effort by James," said Mexico City manager Jaime Martinez. "I loved the way he bore down."
The last-place Aztecs now sit at 28-37.
