Cowboys Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
Tommy Booth did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the San Jose Owls from losing the game, 9-8, to the Austin Cowboys in 11 innings at Clark Field. Booth went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Larry Barber snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Judd Sánchez suffered the loss. The losses continue to pile up for San Jose, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.

The Cowboys got a clutch hit from left fielder Luis López. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Cowboys.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said López.
