Breakers Lose as Ironhorse Stage Late Rally
|
San Diego wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Álex Cabrera, falling to the Sacramento Ironhorse, 5-3. Cabrera threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Sacramento reliever Scotty Hudson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Ernesto Rivera took the loss. David Williams notched his 6th save in 8 chances.
Juan Guzmán came through for Sacramento with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the eighth. The third baseman went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Guzmán. "And not try to do too much."
The win gives Sacramento a season record of 32-31.
