Rainiers Earn 9-5 Home Win
The Seattle Rainiers topped the San Francisco Seals, 9-5, with left fielder Pat Franks playing a big role. Franks was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Rainiers in the win. Pedro Romero, the winner, improved to 5-6. He held San Francisco to 3 runs on 6 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Rainiers upped their record to 30-36.

With Seattle leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Franks hit a changeup from Cornell Jenkins for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Rainiers ahead, 3-0.
