Behind an impressive start by David Bright, Reno beat Las Vegas, 6-2. Gabriel Ordóñez, who finished 4th in the CL in saves with 28 in 2008, was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-1. The losing pitcher was Jaime Ruíz. The Silver Sox raised their record to 36-31.

Reno took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Chad Castillo hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Silver Sox in front, 3-2.

"I was able to fill up the zone," said Bright.
