The Austin Cowboys overcame a good performance by New Orleans left fielder Scott Peck to knock off New Orleans, 7-5, at Higgins Park. Peck belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Rod Lee got credit for the save for Austin. It was his 14th of the year. The Pelicans, now 43-26, have lost 4 straight.

Nathan Bartlett came through with a big-time hit for Austin. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Austin manager John Kolman.
