Streaking Stars Win Another One, 4-3
|
Gilmore Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Hollywood Stars and San Bernardino Stallions.
The Hollywood Stars defeated the San Bernardino Stallions by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman José Guzmán. Guzmán was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Stars on the day. Eddie Holland earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Guzmán had a timely hit for Hollywood in the bottom of the seventh. With Hollywood trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Hollywood.
Guzmán called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The first-place Stars have won 6 consecutive games.
