Behind a fine performance from Pedro Savino III, the Portland Beavers knocked off the Hollywood Stars, 8-3. Savino III was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Beavers. Scott Witt earned the save for Portland, his 14th. The loss makes Hollywood 47-26.

Savino III contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Portland in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Savino III took a cutter from Jaime Porcayo and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Beavers to leap in front, 3-2.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Savino III. "I think we showed that here."
