The Mexico City Aztecs faced a tough opponent in Long Beach pitcher Johnny Clayton, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tapatio Park by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Clayton went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The Aztecs now have a record of 30-45 with the win over Long Beach.
Rafael Costa, who finished 2nd in the CL in extra base hits with 75 in 2011, had a direct impact on the outcome. Costa contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the tenth inning to put Mexico City up, 4-3.
