The Long Beach Ports downed the Portland Beavers, 7-3. The hitting star was first baseman Ming Loong. Loong went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Ports. Tony Pantoja got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Ports now have a mark of 35-40.

With Long Beach leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Loong hit a fastball from Gong Xú for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Ports ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Portland skipper Pete Donut.
