Dallas Rallies for 5-4 Victory
|
No one was more impactful than António Lara in the 5-4 Dallas win over Denver. Lara, who is tied for 4th in the PL with a .332 batting average, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Dallas reliever Henry Morrison picked up the win. Kent Hopkins, who leads the PL in saves with 22, took the loss for Denver. Dallas is now 36-38, Denver 51-25.
Dallas used the timely hitting of Jeff Dunbar to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eagles on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Dallas skipper Cameron J. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
