Sailors Heading to Round 3
The party is on for Santa Cruz Sailors fans, while disappointment reigns for those fans in San Jose.

The Sailors eliminated the San Jose Foghorns in the Round 2 at Field of the Foghorns today and will now move on to the Round 3.

"It's a big letdown and not what we want to be feeling," said San Jose manager after the loss.

Santa Cruz won the final game by a score of 3-1 and took the series 3-1.

"We want to bring a championship home to our city, that's all there is to it. Everyone wants it badly for themselves, but we want it for Santa Cruz too," said Mark Lowe, whose strong pitching performances during the series earned him MVP honors.

Lowe had a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings during the Round 2. He added 7 strikeouts with a 1-0 record.

The Santa Cruz Sailors don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cheyenne Big Horn - Shreveport Steelers series. Cheyenne leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
