Kichida Blasts Yetis, Pelicans Take Game 1, 9-5
The New Orleans Pelicans started the Wild Card Series in style today, winning on the road against the Homer Yetis at Bombers Ballpark by a score of 9-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Pelicans second baseman Kazuyoshi Kichida excelled. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

In the top of the second of a scoreless game, Kichida hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.

"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Kichida.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bombers Ballpark in Homer.
