Wild Card Series Game 1 Victory for Soto and Hollywood
The Hollywood Stars started the Wild Card Series in style, downing the visiting San Jose Owls at Gilmore Field by a score of 8-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Stars right-hander Tony Soto threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

José Cruz, who finished 5th in the CL in on-base percentage with .402 in 2012, helped out the Hollywood cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

"I'm proud to wear a Hollywood jersey," Soto told the Hollywood Daily. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gilmore Field in Los Angeles.
