Booth Blasts Stars, Owls Take Game 3, 5-1
The San Jose Owls have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Hollywood Stars, winning, 5-1, at Ballpark of San Jose. Owls first baseman Tommy Booth belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Owls to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Booth had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third to put San Jose in front, 3-0. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run off Hollywood pitcher Jaime Porcayo.

"We're one game closer to our goal," San Jose manager Sean Hogan said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of San Jose in San Jose.
