Fireballs Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
The Phoenix Fireballs moved to within one game of the Series of the West today, downing the visiting Salt Lake City Locusts at Pyro Center by a score of 8-5. Fireballs second baseman Jason Davis did some major damage. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Fireballs a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Diego Hernández took Jessie Downing deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Fireballs on top, 4-3. In all, Hernández had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"I don't care a whit about getting a sweep," Hernández said. "The only part of it that matters to me is it means we've got a lot of chances to get that last win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pyro Center in Phoenix.
