Home Loss Shrinks Rainiers Series Lead to 3-2
|
The New Orleans Pelicans have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Seattle Rainiers, winning 5-2 at Sick's Stadium today. Pelicans right-hander Andre Parks threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Pelicans to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Series of the West.
New Orleans used the bat of Noel Floyd to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Pelicans ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We lost," Seattle manager said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Higgins Park in New Orleans.
