Seattle 2013 Series of the West Champions
It's party time in Seattle. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling.

The Seattle Rainiers have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2013 Series of the West today. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 6-4 at Higgins Park to officially wrap up the series 4-2.

Asked how it feels to be champion, center fielder Gilberto Lugo was to the point.

"It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions."

The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Seattle finished the regular season 89-74 and claimed first place in the Pacific Coast League North.
