Seals Earn 7-4 Win Against Owls
Despite a great performance by San Jose catcher Derrek Stevens, the San Francisco Seals defeated the Owls by the score of 7-4 at Ballpark of San Jose. Stevens went 4-6 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. Jorge Garza snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Judd Sánchez suffered the loss. The Seals, now 7-1, have stormed out of the gates.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of John Soriano to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Seals on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I like the fight in this team," said Seals manager Jamming Econo.
