Homer got a decent performance from pitcher Jack Martin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minneapolis Millers. Minneapolis won the Nicollet Park contest, 4-3. Martin threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Millers.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Kenny Lawrence came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Homer pitcher Robert Rice, he hit a 2-2 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Minneapolis on top, 4-3.

Lawrence told a Minneapolis News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
