The Reno Silver Sox, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Alamo Park.

The Reno Silver Sox defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 7-6, at Alamo Park. Leading the charge for Reno was second baseman Dave Shaffer. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The 4th-place Pelicans have lost 5 straight games.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Reno trailing 6-4, Shaffer jumped on a fastball from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Williams and hit a 3-run home run to left. With one swing, the Silver Sox had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was juiced," said Shaffer.
