The San Francisco Seals defeated the San Bernardino Stallions, 6-5, in 10 innings. Manny Cantú led the way, going 2-for-3 for San Francisco. Freddy Mercado came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The Seals, at 43-36, sit in second place in the Pacific Coast League North.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when San Francisco center fielder Terry Reynolds, facing Joaquín Hernández, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Seals the 6-5 win.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Cantú.
