Thrice Is Nice: Hauser Unloads 3 Homers
Monday, April 13th , 2015
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Corey Hauser can celebrate.
The Houston Lone Stars first baseman powered three into the stands at Hogg Field against the Kansas City Jacks.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Hauser told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-5 as the Lone Stars toppled Kansas City by a score of 10-5, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Houston manager Eric Benson said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Corey Hauser hit a solo-shot off Tim McRobert in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tim McRobert in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Pepe Acosta in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
Thus far in 2015, Hauser is hitting .294 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, 7 runs scored and has compiled a .368 OBP.
