Las Vegas Shut Out, 2-0, By Ports, Rodríguez

The bats were ice cold for the Las Vegas Strip at Banditos Ballpark. Long Beach Ports starter Jorge Rodríguez kept the Strip cold all day, shutting them out, 2-0. In a fine outing, the 36-year-old hurler allowed 3 hits while striking out 7 and walking 1.
"I'm not quite sure what was different today," Rodríguez admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
Rodríguez has made 13 starts, tossed 82 innings, struck out 54 batters and walked 22. His record is 6-2 with a 3.51 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .255 batting average.
