Big Day with Bat: Gimarey 5-for-5
Monday, August 3rd , 2015
5 times is the charm -- at least for Fernando Gimarey.
The Salt Lake City Locusts right fielder tore up the Las Vegas Strip to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Derks Field. The offensive onslaught from Gimarey powered the 18-6 Locusts win.
"Gimarey was a tough out," Las Vegas manager Charlie Donovan said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Fernando Gimarey hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off John Hodges in the 7th.
For the season, Gimarey has hit .272 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs. He has played in 96 games and scored 61 times.
