Seals No Match for Thomas, Aztecs in 10-0 Thumping
Sunday, September 13th , 2015
Before the game, James Thomas said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Estadio Tenochtitlan, the Aztecs pitcher blanked the San Francisco Seals, 10-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Thomas said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my cutter even when I was behind in the count."
The Mexico City starter held San Francisco scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Seals manager Jamming Econo said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
To date, Thomas has a 11-9 mark in 30 starts with a 3.99 ERA. He has given up 201 hits in 194 innings, struck out 192 and issued 51 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .262 batting average against him.
