Vásquez Hits in 33 Straight Games
Tuesday, May 3rd , 2016
Win or lose, José Vásquez just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 33 games.
The Minneapolis Millers right fielder went 2-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 4-3, by the Kansas City Jacks at Nicollet Park.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." José Vásquez walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ken Roy in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
In his season totals, Vásquez has 3 home runs, .378 BA, .422 OBP, 15 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has played in 25 games.
