Beavers Advance to Series of the West Sunday, October 25th , 2015 Portland Beavers won a nail-biting series against the Hollywood Stars 4-3, wrapping up the League Championship Series finale 5-3 at Gilmore Field. Beavers shortstop Ray Tate was named the series MVP. He batted .417, drove in 1 runs and scored 7 to lead Portland into the next round of play. "Ray was real solid for us, real solid," said Beavers manager Pete Donut. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Portland Beavers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Denver Grizzlies - Houston Lone Stars series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
