Rainiers, Stars Agree to Deal
Monday, July 4th , 2016
Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Rainiers announced today the acquisition of 29-year old LHP Manuel Torres from the Hollywood Stars in exchange for a 7th round draft pick. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Rainiers, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams."
Torres has pitched 56.1 innings and molded a 5.91 ERA with 1 save. He has surrendered 60 hits while registering 49 strikeouts on his way to a 2-2 record for the Rainiers this year.
