Parsons Fires Shutout in Riders Victory Monday, June 29th , 2015 It wasn't easy but the St. Joseph Riders made it look that way. Starter Jeff Parsons shut out the Shreveport Steelers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the St. Joseph Riders cruised to victory, 5-0. Parsons allowed only 3 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." On the season, Parsons has compiled a 9-5 mark with a 2.25 ERA in 16 starts. In pitching 124 innings he has 107 strikeouts and 34 walks while limiting the opposition to a .231 batting average.
