Guerra Crashes 3 HR Against Roswell
Tuesday, September 1st , 2015
Bartolo Guerra of the Oilmen won the battle against Roswell pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Bisons Ballpark, got his name in the league record book, but Odessa came up short in the win column, losing to the Grays, 16-9. The Odessa third baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats."
For the game, the 24-year old third baseman Guerra went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Guerra said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss."
Bartolo Guerra hit a solo-shot off Bernard Thomas in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Bernard Thomas in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Armando López in the 8th.
So far this year, Guerra is batting .270 with 13 home runs.
