Handbaskets Blanked by Valdéz
Wednesday, September 2nd , 2015
Warner Valdéz was in a mood to talk following the Duluth Dukes contest against the Helena Handbaskets, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Handbaskets, 5-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Valdéz said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Helena on a 2-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 6 strikeouts.
For this year, Valdéz has chalked up 4 wins and 3 losses in 7 starts with 51 strikeouts in 51.2 innings and a 2.26 ERA.
