Wright Powers 3 HR Against Spokane Monday, July 15th , 2013 Rob Wright went yard three times in a Calgary Cowboys victory over the Spokane Indians at Cowboys Ballpark today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Calgary right fielder went 3-for-4 against Spokane with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Cowboys to the 9-5 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Rob Wright flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and walked in the 8th. For the season, Wright is hitting at a .336 clip with 11 home runs, 21 RBIs and has scored 18 runs. He has 40 hits, 12 walks and a .404 on-base percentage. |
