Williams Whips Palm Springs, 4-0
Saturday, May 21st , 2016
All went well for Steve Williams of the Kailua Surf as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 4-0, over the Palm Springs Power, limiting them to 7 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Williams on the day.
"Steve's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Surf manager . "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Kailua right-hander rang up 14 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Power manager . "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
On the season, Williams has compiled a 3-4 mark with a 3.57 ERA in 10 starts. In pitching 75.2 innings he has 112 strikeouts and 17 walks while limiting the opposition to a .270 batting average.
